No one understands me

I really dislike it when people presume to understand what I am going through. Don’t worry, there is nothing new under the sun. I got over it last year so you’ll be fine, don’t dwell on it you’ll just depress yourself. I feel like telling them all to keep quiet and mind their own business. I don’t mind being around people; but that’s only if they stayed silent; nevertheless the next best thing is being alone; where I can think and worry in peace and that seems to suit me well

Despite what people say I count myself lucky. At least I’m not drowning my sorrows with alcohol, drugs, partying or sex so I must be better off. If only I had someone who will understand me. You know; not sympathise or empathise but understand. I laugh when some of my acquaintances and even friends tell me that they don’t judge me. I can see it written on their faces, in the tone of their voice and notice it in their attitude that I have been judged. Yes I’m snappy, I do get upset quick and people perceive me as arrogant. However I know I am a good person really but I just find it difficult to get to a good place.

God understands us more than we understand ourselves. When people around you struggle to understand you or what you are going
through, you need not look far. Seek God. He told Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV). People base their understanding of a person by what they see, hear, and are told. These are all imperfect standards to base our understanding of a person on.

However God understands us because He KNOWS us. He knows our abilities capabilities and vulnerabilities. He knows what we go through and understands our feelings. The bible says “For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,” (Psalms 103:11, 14, 17 NKJV).

Ok, if that’s the case; where is He you may ask? Well, the answer is simple, He is everywhere. How can I get in touch with Him you may wonder? That is easy too; get in touch with Him through prayer and He will surely listen. You don’t need to deal with it on your own, speak to God, He is the best councillor and His word the best director. “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”. (I Peter 5:6, 7 NKJV)

  1. I love this msg. And it’s true. Often times we’ll be seeking help or understanding from people when it’s only God that can truly understand us. He’s with us every single day. It reminds me of psalm 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

    God bless

  2. No one understands me- This is definitely how many teenagers feel all across the world. They have to battle between their nagging parents and peer pressure. Their parents feel that they are stubborn and caught in the vanities of life. Teenagers on the other hand think that their parents are old -fashioned and caught in the “old-school” ways, which renders them insensitive to teenage issues. I am still yet to choose between whether teenagers are stubborn or whether they see the world differently. Anyway, they believe that no one understands them…. but whatever it is, God does. I hope this helps somebody today. God bless
